Tamar Herzog is the Monroe Gutman Professor of Latin American Affairs at Harvard and an affiliated faculty member at the Harvard Law School. She is a legal historian of Spain, Portugal, and their overseas territories, having worked on diverse topics such as colonial administration, penal justice, scribes, citizenship, the right to land, and territorial conflicts. She is the author of seven monographs, three edited volumes and over 120 articles.
