My research focuses on gender and sexuality in medieval English and Scottish literature and culture. I'm the author of Obscene Pedagogies: Transgressive Talk and Sexual Education in Late Medieval Britain (Cornell, 2018) and co-editor of Rape Culture and Female Resistance in Late Medieval Literature (Penn State, forthcoming 2022). My academic writing, public-facing writing, editing, teaching, and volunteer work are centered on fighting for reproductive, sexual, and racial justice and using the past as a resource for understanding the present in order to transform the future.
